Ice Storm Reflections
I am sending a shorter note today because Kim and I decided to head south for a few days to escape the impending ice storm. Our town is located along the front edge of the Appalachian mountains where the ice accumulation is predicted to be heaviest. Once the storm passes, we’ll continue our journey as we travel to Rochester, NY to visit my parents and Kim’s mother.
One of the key elements in achieving peace in your life is having social connection, and a great starting point for this is within the family. It’s unfortunately easy to set aside family simply because we think they’ll always be there. But time lost is time lost, and it’s certainly not true that our loved ones will always be with us. Family is precious, and taking time to renew and maintain those connections is an important element in our walk toward peace.
In addition to visiting my parents and Kim’s mom, we’ll also take time to reflect on the future course of this newsletter. We were able to build up a modest subscriber base by recruiting people over from the PlantPure Communities email list, but aside from those additions, we have not seen any organic growth, and in fact have been steadily losing subscribers. We also have not been very successful in motivating people to upgrade to a paid subscription, which is what we require to continue doing this work. For these reasons, Kim and I are reconsidering the form, content, and goal of this newsletter, and of course, if you have any thoughts, feel free to share them.
I certainly understand the reason for these challenges. There are so many newsletters and other sources of information available to us, and it gets overwhelming after a while. Many of us also have financial constraints and are not wanting another recurring subscription drawing funds from our account, even if it’s a small amount. Kim and I have been living under these kinds of constraints for quite some time now, so I completely understand this sentiment.
We’ll have more thoughts to share later, but for now, we’re looking forward to our visit up North, in what may feel like the surface of Pluto. The forecast for the foreseeable future is for bone-chilling cold. Fortunately, my parents have a fireplace, so we’ll just observe the cold through the windows and enjoy the dancing flames inside. I hope you all have a nice weekend.
In peace,
Nelson

Safe travels! I will continue to support and spread your news because we know that you are a trusted source of accurate, science-based evidence. It can be hard to find reliable resources, but you and Kim are! I've pre-ordered the book as well. Looking forward to it. I understand the frustration. I worked very hard to study and sit for the NBC-HWC credentials and have held them for four years. Also a graduate of the plant-based nutrition course AND a CPT trainer certificate to be as well-rounded as possible. But clients . . . . crickets! Those I have worked with have been a joy. So motivated. But it's not enough to leave my full time admin assistant job. Carry on and we'll keep supporting as best we can and hope to attend an immersion soon. Again, keep safe while traveling and enjoy your time. Thank you!
I hope you are enjoying Rochester, NY so far (if you are still here, my hometown. I hope that you'd continue this Campbell Letter as I do read it. Best wishes.
