The truth of our health
points to the truth of everything.

Food and health provide a window to a bigger truth. Understanding the wholistic nature of biology, food, and health requires a way of seeing that can change the world itself.

The same reductionist thinking that got nutrition wrong is at the root of all our problems — and learning to see differently is where transformative change can begin.
The Whole Truth — Order

What is our vision?

We are naturally drawn to focus on what is directly in front of us, without seeing the larger whole of which it is a small part. It takes a conscious effort to step back and see the larger whole, but that effort can change everything.

Wholism begins with a simple observation: the reductionist thinking that has distorted nutrition science by breaking food into isolated nutrients, ignoring the complexity of the whole, is the same thinking that distorts medicine, politics, economics, and how we relate to one another and the natural world.

The answers to our most pressing problems are not hidden. They only seem so when we stare too closely at the part in front of us. When we learn to see the whole, motivated by a compassionate heart, transformative solutions become visible — and they turn out to be connected in ways we never expected.

We started with food and health, but the way we can see that truth is also the way we can see our world more generally, and it's the necessary precondition to making our world kinder, more connected, more empowering, and more sustainable.

The principles that transform individual health can transform how communities function and foster social healing.

Whole World

Our ecological, political, economic, social, and spiritual crises share a root, and a common solution: heart-centered wholism.

The Whole Truth book cover

The Whole Truth

For decades, nutrition science has been shaped by reductionist thinking — isolating individual nutrients, studying fragments of a larger, infinitely complex whole, arriving at conclusions that serve financial interests and power brokers more than health.

The Whole Truth makes the case that the science of whole food plant-based nutrition isn't simply the most important story in health. It shows a window into a fundamentally different way of seeing, challenging the reductionism that has distorted science, medicine, and public policy alike. It also makes a powerful case for a new strategy to reinvigorate the plant-based movement.

Drawing on fifty years of rigorous nutritional research by esteemed researcher Dr. T. Colin Campbell, and a history of advocacy, entrepreneurship, and filmmaking by his son Nelson, this book is both a scientific argument and an invitation to transform our world.

Nelson Campbell is a co-author of The Whole Truth (BenBella, June 2026). He also produced the documentary films PlantPure Nation and From Food to Freedom, and he founded the non-profit PlantPure Communities and the PlantPure business.

PlantPure Nation, released in theaters in over 100 cities in 2015 and now on Amazon Prime, documents the healing power of plant-based nutrition and the political forces that have worked to suppress it. Through PlantPure Communities, Nelson helped build a network of advocacy groups involving nearly 250,000 people at its height.

Nelson graduated from Cornell University with degrees in Political Science and Economics, and spent 25 years as a business entrepreneur before turning his full attention to his advocacy work. He is now focused on building a broader platform to articulate the message of wholism to help illuminate our understanding of issues touching on every aspect of our world.

Kim Campbell

Kim Campbell has been advocating for healthy eating for over 35 years. She is the author of three nationally recognized plant-based cookbooks and has led the development of nearly 50 whole food products sold online and in supermarkets across the country.

Kim studied nutrition and child development at Cornell University, later teaching science in public and private schools. That background — part nutritionist, part educator — informs everything she does in the kitchen: a belief that understanding why food matters is as important as knowing how to prepare it.

Through the PlantPure healthy living app, Kim brings her culinary philosophy to home cooks everywhere. She teaches that whole food plant-based eating isn't about deprivation — it's about discovering how satisfying, vibrant, and genuinely delicious healthy food can be.
